Happy May!
May is Mary's Month!
Happy Mother's Day! Isn't Mother's Day every day???
Our Lady of Fatima is celebrated on May 13.
This year, Ascension Thursday is on May 26
and Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, is celebrated on June 5!
What a wonderful opportunity to talk about how special saints and feast days help us learn and understand our faith.
Memeorial Day is celebrated on May 30 this year. We honor all those who gave their lives serving our country. May we remember the essential workers who gave their lives helping others during this difficult time.
All gave some... some gave all ...
May suggestions:
- Pray the rosary together during the month of May, the month of the Holy Rosary.
- Read, read, read! Try reading some books YOU enjoyed growing up. You can't judge a book by its cover! The Wizard of OZ is more than the movie version... Ramona is an earlier version fo Junie B. Jones... What about Heidi? Black Beauty? Swiss Family Robinson? Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn? or... the Little House on the Prairie series?
- Do a family puzzle together!
- Go for a nature walk. Describe what you hear, see, and smell. Draw or take pictures and then write a caption using descriptive words.
- Count change, make change.
- Tell time using a face clock; figure out elapsed time (How much time before we have to leave?)
