St Rita Wins American Heart Association Challenge

In order to keep children healthy and active, the American Heart Association developed a new initiative, the Heart Walk & Run Child Health Challenge.

The American Heart Association selected 25 local schools, including St. Rita School, to participate and asked them to make a video showing why they could use new PE equipment. Mr. Mutrie created a video with help from the entire school. Four winners were chosen out of the 25 video submissions and WE WERE ONE OF THEM!

i-Ready Diagnostic Evaluation

i-Ready is a single K-12 adaptive computerized Diagnostic Evaluation for Reading and Mathematics (given 3 times a year) that pinpoints student needs down to the sub-skill level. Ongoing progress monitoring shows whether students are on track to achieve end-of-year targets.

i-Ready Diagnostic Evaluation:
1. Identifies why students are struggling.
i-Ready Diagnostics adapts to each student, providing easier or harder questions depending on students' answers to previous questions. By adapting across grades K-12, i-Ready Diagnostic helps teachers understand the root causes behind student challenges. This is especially beneficial for providing differentiated instruction and for identifying gaps spanning back multiple years, or for determining where students are ready for further challenge. i-Ready Diagnostic assesses student performance across the key domains in reading and mathematics for grades K-12, providing a valid and reliable measure of student growth with detailed diagnostic results and individualized next steps for instruction.

2. Measures growth across a student's career.
Because the Diagnostic adapts across grades K-12, i-Ready provides a valid and reliable growth measure from year to year. Use i-Ready across the district to track yearly student progress and to optimize administrative decision making for long-term performance improvements.

3. Supports data-driven differential instruction.
Based on the Diagnostic results, i-Ready automatically provides individualized online and teacher-led instruction targeted to each student's unique needs. In addition, easy-to-read reports provide teachers with a detailed action plan for individual and group instruction and the tools to deliver that instruction.
