News from the classroom
In Religion we look forward to to discussing the many ways in which we can show we are followers of Jesus. Each week we will focus on special ways, at home and at school, that we can help and share with others, be thankful or brave, and think of all the ways we can pray to open our hearts to Jesus.
In ELA, we will continue to work on our writing, grammar, and fluency with the Superkids and their new Second Grade teacher, Ms. Blossom. This year we will begin to read and discuss chapter books in our Superkids Book Club, as well as, explore new and exciting topics in our new Second Grade "Super Magazine"!
In Math, we will begin our year by reviewing concepts learned in First Grade. We will continue to work on building fluency in our addition and subtraction facts.
In Science, we will begin exploring properties of matter using our five senses and investigate the different phases in which matter can be found.
In Social Studies, we will start learning about the similarities and differences between the three different communities, urban, suburban, and rural, and the different jobs that exsist in each.
